about me

My name is Andrew Theroux, and I live in Arlington, Virginia, which is just outside of Washington, D.C..

I currently have a full-time job in web development with awesome co-workers, but you may hire me for freelance projects and consulting.

My interests & areas of expertise are:

    Front-End Development

  • web design
  • (x)HTML & CSS coding
  • jQuery
  • turning Photoshop designs into valid (x)HTML & CSS (slicing)
  • light to medium-duty graphic design
    Strategy & Project Planning

  • wireframing
  • content strategy & organization (information architecture)
  • usability
  • user-interfaces
  • content-management systems
  • SEO best-practices

Above all else, I love thoughtful user experience and elegant design, and I am constantly trying to improve my own skills.

My education

Making websites has been a passion of mine since middle school, but it didn’t quite click with me until much later that it’s something I could do as a full-time job.

So, I followed another passion and graduated from the University of Richmond (go Spiders!) with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and a minor in History thrown in for good measure.

I didn’t end up a biologist, but I like to think my liberal arts degree honed my communication skills and gave me a well-rounded education.
